It has thrown an evap code once while at highway speeds. This shut off cruise control.

I went back to the station but it wasn’t on the pump and no one had turned it in.

That exact thing happened to me a few months ago. I decided to just cut my losses and buy another one the next morning.

I think I’m going to have to order one I just called the dealer and they want $45 for it.

Just weld it shut. You don’t need gas cap

maybe don’t weld it shut. It may spark and cause paint damage.

My S2000 cap started throwing codes. The seal must have had a hairline crack because it looked fine to the eye, but $35 later the codes went away.

When I was looking into this problem, I saw a lot of complaints about aftermarket caps not sealing properly, so I ended up just forking it out.

I did that once. The 4Runner now has the cap from one of our Volvo 240’s.

Do your fuel stations not carry temporary/emergency filler caps?

I can order a genuine Subaru replacement for half what the dealer would sell it to me for.

Not that I’ve ever seen. I’m about to pop over to the parts store to see.

I thought it would of been something every fuel station would have along with lightbulbs, windscreen washer fluid, oils and lubricants, etc...
